In early 2020, a petition was circulated to the voters of Edgewood asking for a Special Election to change the form of town government to Commission-Manager. The petition easily exceeded the number of signatures needed and was certified by the town clerk, and eventually, a date was set for a mail-in Special Election to be held in August 2020. This election gives the voters of Edgewood a greater voice in their local government, and helps to ensure leadership of the community is shared amongst a commission of five elected officials instead of one mayor.
