RE: Special Election Requirements
When the mayor and his two lock-step councilors appeared determined to postpone the Special Election until November, New Mexico’s Secretary of State weighed in and instructed Edgewood of the appropriate timeframe to comply with state election law. The mayor, council, and town clerk had previously made aware of the state election law requirements by Attorney Adrian Terry, a C.O.R.E. supporter, on April 7, 2020.
