MAYOR and STAFF OPERATING in SECRET
Records requests (IPRA) show the town is clearly seeking funding for a takeover of EPCOR despite written and verbal ‘assurances’ from the mayor and town staff.
The records from financial authorities show communications and meetings, as recently as early June (and later July). Records show the mayor and staff are working feverishly to get funding in place for a hostile takeover the community has largely and loudly stated it does not want.
The town is stating to Federal and State funding sources that EPCOR is a “willing” seller. According to EPCOR, that is absolutely NOT TRUE.
All these actions are happening “in the dark” and staff is lying to elected town councilors who are asking for information, lying in public meetings, and failing to provide documents that are requested. WATCH: “June 9 Recap – Update on EPCOR Matter”
The case histories always show that a legal condemnation lawsuit to “take” a private water system always results in water rates doubling or tripling to consumers including new property taxes to pay the very high legal costs to take a water system. http://truthfromthetap.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Condemnation7.pdf
It ALWAYS costs more than they say…
