The Albuquerque Journal on February 28 published an article by Isabella Alves entitled, Edgewood ‘at a stalmate’ over voters’ choice.  The article outlines Edgewood’s current division between members of the governing body on how to proceed with voters’ overwhelming call for a change in form or local government (Journal article here).

A Writ of Mandamus was recently filed by governing body members Sherry Abraham and Audrey Jaramillo in an effort to have the town comply with State regulations regarding the transition from the former Mayor-Council government to the new Commission-Manager form of government opted for by the voters. The Writ seeks for the court to order the town and governing body members Abrams and Holle to timely comply with all steps required to transition to the new form of government.
