Citizens for an Open and Responsible Edgewood

VOTE for Edgewood’s Future!  An important Election is happening in Edgewood right now, and residents are counting on Edgewood Voters to select the best candidates to serve as town commissioners. Vote for FIVE Commission Candidates (one candidate for EACH District Position). Make choices in District 4 and District 1 races, and you can affirm candidates in Districts 2, 3, and 5.

Voting is at Edgewood Town Hall (171 NM 344, Edgewood). Early Voting is Oct. 26-30 (Tues-Fri 12-8pm; Sat 10am-6pm) and Election Day is Nov. 2 (7am-7pm)

CANDIDATES for COMMISSION

District 4

Filandro R. Anaya has served the Edgewood community on the Moriarty-Edgewood School Board for 12 years, and on Santa Fe County Planning Board for 8 years. He is a life-long resident of the East Mountains. Along with his wife, they raised their three daughters here in Edgewood. Anaya has worked in finance and runs a construction business.

John Bassett, former mayor, was removed from office by a judge for violating the town’s nepotism ordinance and default judgment of fraud against the taxpayers. Bassett is a life-long Edgewood resident. He previously served on Edgewood’s planning & zoning board. He has worked his family’s lands in farming and ranching.

District 1

Kenneth Brennan spent 20 years in the Navy, retiring as Chief Petty Officer before beginning his second management career. He has worked 20 years in clean energy production, and currently oversees the wind turbine project south of Moriarty. He and his wife moved to Edgewood 12 years ago for its smalltown appeal and plan to live here forever.

Ralph Hill is a life-long resident of Edgewood. He served 10 years in the Air Force before returning home to Edgewood. He helped get Edgewood incorporated, was the original owner of Chili Hills Restaurant, is a commercial property owner, and was instrumental in starting the East Mountain Cowboy Church. Along with family, he worked on several development projects in Edgewood.

District 2

Jerry Powers was born in New Mexico and has lived in the East Mountains for 26 years, three of those as an Edgewood resident. He holds numerous licenses in general construction, home building and roads construction. He also owned and operated a farm in the area, and is a licensed pilot.

District 3

Audrey Jaramillo was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Moriarty HS before continuing her education at UNM. She is a licensed CPA who is known throughout the state for her work specializing in governmental audit and forensic accounting. She served 8 years on Moriarty-Edgewood School Board and holds advanced degrees in accounting and law.

District 5

Sterling Donner is a husband, father of two young boys, and active in his church. He and his family have lived in Edgewood for a number of years and have decided this is where they want to raise their children and establish deep roots. Sterling works in management and previously worked for a large chamber of commerce.
