First 6 Months
On January 1, 2022, the Town of Edgewood began its new form of government: Commission-Manager. The five incoming, elected Commissioners have wasted no time working to get the town back on track.
Getting Things Done
The Commission recruited and hired well-qualified interim Town Manager and Clerk-Treasurer. Management filled numerous vacant staff positions, staff got town records and files back in order, and they discovered grants that had not been used and were near expiration deadlines. With priorities laid out by the Commission, staff worked to bring back recreational programs, to improve road maintenance, and wastewater treatment. The Town sought and continues to seek funding through a variety of sources for the many projects residents want to see completed. Thanks to the efforts of the Commission and Staff, things are moving forward in a positive way in Edgewood.
Transparency
In addition to posting Regular and Special Commission meetings being viewable live online through GoToMeeting and Facebook Live, the Commission has begun recording and posting regular Edgewood Update videos on the town’s website. All can be found on the town’s YouTube page. The town website provides a variety of information. For agendas and minutes, go to the Gov’t tab or look under specific departments.
