Under Bassett, the town has become so closed to requests for information that citizens AND elected councilors have had to resort to filing IRPA requests (Inspection of Public Records Act) in order to get information on important topics. Some requests are not processed, or parties are told there is no information when in fact there is (found through other sources naming Town of Edgewood or its employees in documents on the topic requested). In some cases, documents that are received have been so heavily redacted that it is impossible to ascertain what the town is up to.
