Citizens for an Open and Responsible Edgewood

Edgewood Commons Bridge Project

This project was begun a number of years ago and is to be located in Section 16 (Edgewood Commons). The bridge project has faced several obstacles:  increasing cost and lack of attention by the town. Edgewood resident Tom McGill has taken time to look into this project and shares his insights with the community (below).

From Eye on Edgewood (January 15, 2021):

This is your money! I found the most current ICIP from Edgewood. That is the list of requests for capital money from the NM State legislature.

One item on the list is for the section 16 bridge. I have some questions about that. I understand there is a lot of pressure to finish the project because if we default we will have to return over a half million dollars that we already spent. (Wasted).

This is going to be a tough year for raising money. We should make every effort to spend what we do get wisely. The town has made it clear they have no interest in what a citizen has to say, so I am sharing my concerns directly with my neighbors.

This video is less than seven minutes long. It is technical, but understandable.
Free money is making the Town lazy. I don’t think they have thought this through. They are wasting so much money!

I spent the effort to try to understand enough to raise these concerns. I think the Town needs to re-examine and tell the community if there is a problem and if so, what they intend to do about it. Thank you.
