EDGEWOOD CORE

Citizens for an Open and Responsible Edgewood

Since 2019, CORE members have made videos and recorded some town meetings in an effort to help the community understand the extensive problems with Town government and what was happening to our town (projects, budgets, lawsuits, and sadly, poor behavior by elected officials). We understand not everyone can attend council meetings or community meetings, but we also didn’t want anyone left out of the community process just because of scheduling conflicts or family obligations. We hope you find these videos helpful.

2019 Videos

In 2019, Edgewood citizens began to notice and uncover, and shared with the community information regarding misguided town projects, failure to maintain public assets, and waste of town resources.

2020 Videos

In 2020, a lawsuit was filed on behalf of the citizens of Edgewood by a group of three residents, ultimately leading a special election to change the form of government and the removal of the mayor for illegal actions. Following John Bassett’s removal from office on October, John Abrams, as mayor pro tem became the acting mayor in quickly cancelled numerous regular council meeting, eliminated public input and even councilor input.

2021 Videos

In 2021, legal issues continued and the mayor pro tem joined by Councilor Linda Holle continued to block public input and block input from Councilors Jaramillo and Abraham (until a judge intervened). The out-of-touch duo also failed to move forward on transition to new form of government (until ordered by a judge) and council meetings became more hostile with Abrams at the helm. But, the community moved forward with numerous residents stepping forward to run for office as commissioners in the new government. The election will be held November 2.
