EDGEWOOD CORE

Citizens for an Open and Responsible Edgewood

Edgewood citizens attended in-person and watched livestream on the April 29th Edgewood Public Forum.  For those who may have missed it, the event was recorded and you can WATCH RECORDING HERE. Much was discussed that the community needs to be aware of, and we encourage you to refer friends and neighbors to: https://edgewoodcorenm.com/ for forum recording and additional information.

In the meantime (or once you have seen the recording), it’s important to express your opinions on important town matters by contacting all four town councilors, by calling in to town council meetings to speak (2nd & 4th Wednesdays at 6:30pm), and be sure to make your preference known on the voting format for Edgewood’s next municipal election (November 2). Those options are:

At-Large (each voter gets 5 votes total, 1 for each district of Edgewood), or
Single Member District (each voter gets 1 vote total, limited to the district in which the voter lives).

Edgewood has voted At-large since its inception because State statutes do not require municipality’s with populations less that 10,000 to vote by district  (Edgewood population is approx. 6,000). However, single member districts are an option that Edgewood’s town Council could choose to institute. They will be making that format decision in the near future and they need to know the community’s preference.
